Got Beef? Got Ammonia?

Do you like to eat steaks and hamburgers? Most people do, which is why globally people are talking about why meat is not a sustainable source of protein.

Agriculture is responsible for 90% of all the ammonia pollution in Europe. Currently there are efforts being made to improve barn design, cleaning processes and manure treatment in order to reduce the ammonia emissions. Ammonia pollution has many implications on the Earth, the environment and the overall health of humans. The consequences of ammonia pollution can lead to algal blooms in freshwater, it can threaten aquatic life and contribute to the smog pollution that exists and can further damage overall human health. We need to evaluate and make strides towards limiting the meat produced by livestock. We need to find other ways to build protein in our diets that are more sustainable and less harmful to the environment.
